Dance Mat Typing Level 1 - The Entry Stage of Your Typing Journey
This level is all about accuracy. Each stage of Level 1 includes a warm up and hand exercises that will help students remember their practice and perform better. During this level, students are introduced to a whole cast of animals that will keep the game interesting as you’re guided through the level. Animal friends like the Rock n’ Roll Goat who are in need of assistance will require the students typing skills to help solve any problem they are faced with. All while they’re helping their new animal friends, students will be getting introduced to different typing lessons and learning how to properly position their hand to reach each key efficiently.
Stage 1 starts off with teaching the finger positioning for home row keys. This sets the foundation for their typing skills, and each stage after this one builds on the lessons taught here. Stage 2 moves from the home row keys to e and I keys and stage 3 wraps up the level after the introduction of the keys r and u.
Students by the end of this level should know where their finger positions should start at and which keys their middle and index fingers should touch when reaching up to the top row while typing. Once this level is completed they move up to Level 2.
